A brief description of common screw pumps

There are many different designs of screw pumps, the following is a brief description of the common types. Don't know the friends, and Wuhan Ronice together to discuss it.

Single screw pump - Single screw pump is called screw pump, also called G screw pump, sometimes also called PC pump or worm wheel pump. These are usually not considered in the screw pump series, because the rotor used in these pumps is not a typical screw, but a twisted circular shaft. A screw pump has a shaft that is slightly twisted into a screw shape and is mounted in a pump chamber that is usually lined with rubber.

Twin screw pumps - Twin screw pumps are a common type in high-power applications, such as heavy oil pipeline transportation. One of the screws is driven by a power source (electric motor, engine, etc.) and the timing gear is usually used to rotate the second screw.

Three-screw pumps - Three-screw pumps are commonly used in small applications (such as lubrication systems). One of the screws is driven by the power supply and then makes the other two screws rotate around the power supply without the use of a timing gear.

Four-screw pump - The four-screw pump is essentially a double screw pump, but each rotor has two screws, each facing the opposite direction. The four-screw pump draws the fluid in the suction mouth, then evenly separates it and transmits it to both ends of the pump. Two streams of fluid flow from the pump to the center and join together again before leaving the outlet. Like the two-screw pump, the four-screw pump also has a timing gear to drive the second rotor. Four-screw pumps are commonly used in multiphase applications and in oil pipelines.

Five-screw pump - The five-screw pump is basically the same as the three-screw pump, but has five screws instead of three. Like the three-screw pump, the five-screw pump has a submersible rotor that drives all the other screws. Five-screw pumps are commonly used in lubricant or hydraulic applications.

Screw pumps are sometimes called "double suction" or "single suction". Double suction screw pump and single suction screw pump is another way to distinguish double screw pump and four screw pump. The double screw pump is a single suction design, fluid enters from one end of the pump and exits from the other end. The four-screw pump is a double-suction design, with the suction flow splitting to both ends and moving to the middle for discharge.
